Poland’s Borders — A Thousand Year History

Poland has existed as a country for most of the last 1000 years, but her borders have been in constant flux over that period. I have often looked at various maps to try to understand how she has grown and shrunk and changed over time. Fortunately, and thanks to modern technology, others have done the legwork and I’ve found several short videos that grapically show how the modern borders of Poland and modern Europe came to be. They are generally short and well worth your time–some even more so for the music. Can you now understand just a little why Polish people are so proud of their country and have fought so hard to preserve it over the centuries? I can.

    My maternal grandmother wanted me to be “all” American. I lost any language I may have picked up and a lot of the culture but having been there I really want to learn more and perhaps answer some of my questions on my geneology.
