…. I will be back in Poland. To say I am excited is an understatement. When I first went to Poland last year, it was like a dream…it was the trip of a lifetime. But life changes. When I went there, I met my third cousin, Alicja, and some of her family. And they graciously invited me back. So, I am going back this year, for three weeks, to visit them and to see more of Poland.
My blog is titled “Moja miłość do Polski ” because it is about my love of Poland. But I really don’t know Poland all that well. For many years I have read about Poland and her people, dreamed about going there, and in recent years, and particularly last year, was able to make that dream a reality. But I only had a taste. Just a little taste. My trip across Poland last year was a mere sampling of little bits of the country and her people, her culture, her history, her place in destiny. This year, I will get to know some of her people, to live with them, to travel with them, and even to talk with them–in my own poor broken Polish. I cannot wait, I am so excited.
So I know that when I get off that plane in Gdańsk next month, it will be the beginning of another great adventure. I will write about it every day, for sure, and will post what I do on this blog whenever I can get a connection to the Internet–I am not sure when that will be, but trust me, I will be writing everything down, to remember it as best I can, and taking a lot of picture. But mostly my heart and soul will be drinking up the spirit of Poland. I know that this is not my last trip, but only the beginning of many more.
So, in four short weeks, the next phase of my adventure in Poland begins. I can hardly bear the waiting. The time will go by quickly!
